ANXIOUS TWITTER STAFF MAY WONDER ‘WHY BOTHER’?
Bloomberg reports that the first slide of a presentation at a Twitter staff meeting yesterday asked a question that is likely on the minds of many employees following Tesla boss Elon Musk’s move on the micro-blogging platform: “Why Bother?” Twitter product vice president Jay Sullivan told employees that they have a responsibility to each other, and to a product used by hundreds of millions of people – even though the company’s putative owner is reportedly planning big changes. Musk, who has agreed to take Twitter private in a $44bn deal, has told potential investors he could return the social media company to public ownership after just a few years, according to The Wall Street Journal, citing anonymous sources.

You can check out the PeopleOps job board here.

MEETINGS MONSTER GREEDILY EATS UP TIME
Former Google CHRO and Humu Co-founder Laszlo Bock posts on LinkedIn to bring attention to a New York Times article which contends that “hybrid is failing us.” “Commute time savings is being consumed by more meetings, and it's not clear if Big Tech is helping or hurting . . . but it's hard to argue that 250% more meetings is a good thing,” Bock writes.

Although the poster admits “I know this has been asked a million times,” a request to the subreddit for Human Resources asking correspondents to reveal their wage has been responded to by several hundred people.
