CHINA OPPOSED TO FORCED TIKTOK SALE
China has stated that it opposes any forced sale of TikTok, in the face of mounting pressure from the U.S. China’s Commerce Ministry said that a forced sale by Washington could damage the confidence of Chinese investors in the U.S. and said any sale or spinoff of TikTok would involve technology-export issues that would need to be handled according to Chinese law and with the approval of the Chinese government. The dispute over TikTok has underscored the growing tension between China and the U.S., with both sides seeking to assert their influence in the global tech sector. While the outcome of the dispute remains uncertain, experts say that it highlights the need for companies to carefully consider the geopolitical implications of their operations, particularly in sensitive sectors such as tech.
